What Makes a Good Sentence or Paragraph?

- Spelling should be correct, Use a dictionary.
- All sentences should start with a capital letter.
- All sentences should have proper punctuation. Add commas where you would take a breath if you were reading it aloud.
- No letters or words should be "swinging from chandeliers".
- No letters or words should be "digging for gold in the line below".
- Letters should be properly formed.
- A sentence should not have more than 7-10 words.
- A paragraph should begin indented and contain 5-6 sentences.
- Always read your work aloud. If your work reads well aloud, it will read well in my head.

- Write one full page. 5th grade = every other line. 6th-12th = every line.
